Contemporary landscapes of Japan

A unique and must-see lesson is proposed by the landscape architecture of contemporary Japan. A glance at this reality is offered by a show at London's RIBA Architecture Gallery. The projects range from very high-density populated urban centres to civic spaces, from highways to private gardens.

Among the best-known examples: the roof garden of the Hiroshima NTT by Yoji Sasaki, the project for the Media Centre's square in the university city of Osaka by Makoto Noborisaka, and the Narumi Park by Toru Mitani.
