Opening in the next few days, the retrospective dedicated to the Japanese architect is being readied at the St. Louis Museum of Art. Designed by the same studio Tadao Ando Architect & Associates, the exhibit includes 17 projects illustrated through models, drawings, photographic images and videos.

Almost at the same time, still in St. Louis, the inauguration of Ando's first public building in the U.S., the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, which will open its doors October 17.

"Simple composition with diverse spaces dramatized by light", this is how the Japanese architect synthesizes his creations that spring from essential geometric and proportionate forms made of concrete and glass.

"Tadao Ando is that rare architect who combines artistic and intellectual sensitivity in a single individual capable of producing buildings, large and small, that both serve and inspire". With these motives, in 1995, the jury of the Pritzker Prize conferred upon the Japanese master architecture's highest recognition.
