BMW Motorrad has unveiled a new concept from its CE scooter series. The Concept CE 02 is a smaller sibling to the Definition CE 04. It inherits the sci-fi inspired design and the general naked look and feel. The Concept CE 02 is compact, minimal and reminds of a beach scooter, with a diminutive seat and large wheels. With its proportion and design, the scooter appeals to a younger gen-Z crowd. At 120kg, the CE 02 is lightweight and easy to manoeuver, while its 11Kw output could push it to a max speed of 90km/h. The range is 90km on a single charge, which would be perfect for a scooter whose primary goal is to zip through the daily city traffic. "We wanted to develop an easily accessible two-wheeler for everyone who wants to be mobile and independent," says Alexander Buckan, Head of Vehicle Design BMW Motorrad. "You love it because it's always there for you and it just works – even if you occasionally don't treat it as carefully as you might. And there are stickers, tapes and other forms of customisation that make it quite clear to everyone that it belongs to you. It embodies youthful freedom and a carefree spirit – rather like a skateboard on two wheels." As the name suggests, Concept CE 02 is just that — a concept. Considering how futuristic and cutting-edge some electric motorbikes already look today though, this scooter could have a chance on the market. BMW Motorrad has already announced that the futuristic-looking CE 04 will be part of the company's 2022 line-up, which leaves hopes that a production version of the CE 02 could also hit the road at some point in the near future.

Light and easy to drive, the city scooter will appeal to a younger crowd. It's just a design concept, though, and BMW Motorrad hasn't unveiled any plan for a production model yet.
