Brescia. An expression of Lombardy and Veneto art, and an important opponent to the Tuscan and Rome Renaissance, it welcomed and produced memorable artists who left a distinct and lasting mark in art history. From 11 March to 21 May 2023, the Diocesan Museum of Brescia will be presenting the exhibition: Sacred Ceruti and painting in Brescia, from Ricci to Tiepolo. The exhibition analyses the works of Giacomo Ceruti, better known as Pittocchetto for his generic scenes - the impoverished, vagabonds and peasants - he also produced a limited series of sacred works during his stay in Brescia and the surrounding province; extraordinary pieces of art, monumental figures that bear witness to the mastery and knowledge of art history.
