mmcité, a brand that specialises in street furniture and also uses green roofs and solar energy in its designs, presented the new Platform and Platform Kupé cultivation islands.
"The development of cities and public spaces is undeniable. Streets are changing through direct interaction with people, and this creates new demands", says David Karásek, CEO and chief designer of mmcité.
This series of products, generally known as parklets, an extension of the pavement, has long been used in metropolises to shape mini public spaces in busy urban areas, becoming a gathering place.
Platform street furniture, a modular system that allows for different variations, aims to change cities and transform anonymous spaces such as car parks or unused urban corners into places of interaction: cafés, terraces, relaxation areas and green spaces.
Platform Kupé, on the other hand, is perfect for transforming a public space into an unobtrusive place and is suitable for campuses, offices and schools in four versatile variants.
