After the Nintendo Classic mini and the SuperNintendo Mini, Super Mario fans are patiently waiting for the company’s next installment of its successful nostalgic lineup. As rights over games developed by Rare (now a Microsoft company) and some other inscrutable marketing considerations are keeping the Nintendo 64 Classic mini from hitting the shelves anytime soon, the company should be thinking about a remake of the GameBoy portable console. At least, that’s what the Nintendo fanboy in me is thinking. If that’s ever going to happen, let’s hope the Japanese company would draw inspiration by the Nintendo Flex, a gorgeous concept for a futuristic GameBoy by the Korean designer Yj Yoon. Even though it would sell like hotcakes, a GameBoy remake would probably make no sense at all in the age of smartphones and given Nintendo’s current plan in the mobile gaming field. Nonetheless, one’s still allowed to dream.
