The first glamping in history seems to have taken place in 1520, on the occasion of a diplomatic meeting between King Henry VIII of England and King Francis I of France. Represented in the painting The Field of the Cloth of Gold, thousands of temporary pavilions and tents with all kinds of luxuries and comforts were set up for the meeting. Returning to more recent times, we cannot fail to mention the mobile camp that Muammar Gaddafi used for his institutional trips, where he welcomed celebrities and statesmen.

The idea of combining the best comforts with a natural contact – the term “glamping” was born from the words “glamour” and “camping” – is not only reserved for nobles and politicians, but has become one of the most popular trends in sustainable tourism.
All around the world we can find camps designed by some of the best international architects, temporary settlements in the wild or in vineyards and beaches, combining scenic beauty with gastronomic excellence.
Mediterraneo is the model of tent produced by Sprech providing all the comforts typical of a hotel and the advantage of being immersed in nature without affecting its fragile equilibrium. The prefabricated dwelling model uses only the highest quality materials with a low environmental impact: insulated wood perimeter walls, internal parquet floors with natural wood staves on the outside, all covered by a curtain that generates an open-covered mediation space. Mediterraneo can also be customised with a covered veranda and an internal whirlpool bath.
