Today we work in the office, but also at home, from our desk, but also from the bar, on trains, lying on hotel beds... It is therefore more important than ever, for designers and companies, to understand current changes in work environments and to think of spaces that can adapt to our changing needs and mobility.
This is the goal of Faram, a brand that deals with furniture partitions and office furniture, which on 27 February organized the first of a series of events called “People and Spaces. A new vision of the Workplace”. The round table moderated by journalist Donatella Bollani coincided with the launch of Bahlara, a collection inspired by the spontaneous aesthetics of the markets.
The furnishings interpret the new need to work anywhere and at the same time feel at home, with dynamic, temporary and “disordered” elements. “Today’s life is made of complexity,” explains Mariano Corso, Scientific Manager of the Smart Working Observatory at the Politecnico di Milano.
During the round table, the professor explores the themes of identity and the relationship between man, technology and work: “I travel a lot for work and when I have free time I often visit the markets. And also on the other side of the world in a market I feel at home”.
“In Faram 1957, we imagine the office as a place where people can find an identity, where workspaces are characterized by sharing, exchange and stimulate creativity, productivity and well-being” explains Massimiliano Giacomelli, CEO of Faram 1957.
Like the market of Ballarò in Palermo, which inspired the collection, Bahlara “lives, expands, contracts, reconfigures, changes clothes, adapting to aesthetic, functional and organizational needs” said Egidio Panzera, company art director.
Bahlara consists of sliding benches and worktops creating discontinuous surfaces, with fabric sound-absorbing panels that can be freely placed.
The customisation of the workstations allows individual configurations and configurations for small meetings, guaranteeing the necessary privacy: “Today the aspect of acoustics is fundamental. We have thought of products with which to create acoustically isolated environments,” said Panzera.
