Back in Europa, the French photographer continued his research through the cities of Berlin, Bruxelles, Caen, Milan, Moscow, Paris, Rouen or Saint-Petersburg.
Gathered in a small book the series Cover Up question us about our idea of cleanness and control, “Painting references arise, turning the covering into a painting. From time to time, the story of monochrome shows on the surface but it is the story of abstraction, gestural or not, which dominates.” Denys Riout wrote.
Mobility is essential in Matthieu Martin’s work. His interest for urban issues explains why he is always in motion: he is inspired by the architectures, landscapes and stories he sees. He is represented by the Parisian gallery ALB (Anouk Le Bourdiec).
