The new Capital International Exhibition & Convention Centre (CIECC) in Beijing, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), was inaugurated today, expanding the city's exhibition infrastructure to over 611,000 square meters. Located in Shunyi District, near Capital International Airport, the centre introduces nine new exhibition halls, three reception halls, a conference centre for 9,000 delegates, and a 410-room hotel. Defined by a fluid architectural language, the CIECC’s copper-toned façade and pleated geometry balance its industrial scale, while bridges and a central axis unify the complex. Modular construction has reduced costs and development time, ensuring flexibility in use. Achieving China's highest Green Building certification, the venue integrates smart climate control, hybrid ventilation, rainwater recycling, and photovoltaic panels. Positioned at the intersection of commerce, culture, and technology, CIECC establishes itself as Beijing’s premier platform for international conferences and industry expos.
