In 2022, responding to numerous requests from its customers, Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux launched the Casquette 2.0, a remake of its namesake watch from 1976.
Along with its unusual and innovative design, the first Casquette notably used an LED Display. Back in the 1970s, the component was a pricey novelty—today, it's a quintessential element of retro-futuristic design and tech nostalgia.
The new Casquette 2.0 is an upgrade to the first model released in 2022, which was made of black ceramic and titanium. On the new Casquette, Titanium takes over the main role, while the logo on top of the watch and the pushers all get an upgrade to 18K gold.
The Casquette 2.0, equipped with a Calibre GP3980 quartz movement, displays time and has a full calendar, chronograph, and dual time zones. It also includes a unique 'secret date' feature for storing personal, memorable dates.
The new watch is a limited edition of 820 units and is available from Girard-Perregaux online or in one of the brand's boutiques.
