Photos of the new neighbourhood designed by Mario Cucinella in Milan

The shots of the Urban Reports collective capture the urban regeneration work Seimilano, which has changed the face of a vast area in the south-west of the city. Now on display at the Triennale.

The exhibition SeiMilano – Tale of a Metamorphosis, on display at the Triennale Milano from October 8 to 27, is the latest project by the photographic collective Urban Reports, devoted to the urban regeneration project that transformed a 330,000 square meter area between Via dei Calchi Taeggi and Via Bisceglie into a city-garden.

Developed by Borio Mangiarotti and Värde Partners from MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects's design and set within a large park designed by landscape architect Michel Desvigne (MDP), the new Milanese district is at the centre of a photographic project aimed at reconstructing its five-year evolution, with a particular focus on the construction site and the creation of the inhabited park.

Since 2019, the Urban Reports collective, consisting of photographers Viviana Rubbo, Alessandro Guida, Davide Curatola Soprana, and Isabella Sassi Farías, has documented the key moments of the long transformation process that reshaped this disused area, offering a fresh perspective on the complexity of spatial, social, and environmental regeneration processes in urban landscapes. The forty photographs showcased in the SeiMilano – Tale of a Metamorphosis exhibition provide an opportunity to contextualize these interventions, emphasizing the importance of the human dimension that drives them and using photography as a tool for territorial storytelling.
