Our hands-on with the smartphone that takes portraits like Studio Harcourt

Honor's new 200 Series has an artificial intelligence system that recreates the Parisian studio's unique aesthetic. Here's how our test went, right in Paris.

Studio Harcourt, founded in Paris in 1934, is renowned for its black-and-white portraits that have become iconic. Known for their dramatic chiaroscuro and striking subjects – ranging from Marlene Dietrich to Édith Piaf, Jean Cocteau and Roger Federer – these portraits have set a timeless standard. The new Honor 200 lineup of smartphones, designed specifically for portrait photography, make this unique style accessible to everyone.

The Honor 200 Pro boasts a 50MP camera designed to capture every detail in portraits, even in tricky lighting. Its AI Portrait engine, developed in collaboration with Studio Harcourt, combines the studio’s mastery of light and shadow with Honor’s advanced AI technology.

To create this engine, Honor’s team spent over 400 days working closely with Studio Harcourt, analyzing thousands of scenarios to ensure they captured the essence of Harcourt’s renowned portrait style.

We tested the Honor 200 Pro both in Studio Harcourt and on the streets of Paris. The photos and videos you see are the result of this experience.
