Rafael Viñoly Architects posthumously unveiled the project for a terraced residential building in Uruguay by the studio's founder, who passed away last year, Rafael Viñoly. Situated on a seaside site near Montevideo, the Médano El Pinar complex will stretch 1,394-foot and is designed to blend into the landscape, behind the dunes.
The building is expected to accommodate around 120 luxury residences, ranging from one to five bedrooms, featuring large windows, terraces, and gardens with panoramic views. Additionally, it will have a structure made of locally sourced wood. To reduce consumption and make the building as sustainable as possible, solar panels, a rainwater collection system, a green roof, and a cross-ventilation system will be integrated into the project. The complex will also feature a large pool.
