Neom, the mega-development in Saudi Arabia, has announced the Norlana town, its ninth region, on the Gulf of Aqaba, in the northwest of the country. Designed by 10 Design, the coastal town will be a part of a cluster of four other tourist developments planned to be built on the Gulf (Utah, Leyja, Epicon, and Siranna) and will host 3,000, with 700 apartments and two hotels.
The project aims to cleverly blend with the landscape; therefore, the buildings evoke the surrounding rock formations and appear to emerge from the mountains themselves. Approaching from the sea, one will gradually notice that what appeared to be geological formations from a distance are, in fact, buildings and villas.
The architecture studio paid special attention to the sport, and along with the 120-berth marina, the main element of the town, the project will host also an equestrian club, a golf course, and a tennis club.
