The project was developed in collaboration with companies involved in the renovation of the residential buildings – owned by Ale and managed by the municipal company Ama Rozzano – using a special Italian bonus. Street art has been considered an important tool for improving public spaces and fostering a greater sense of community belonging. The street art intervention as a message of social inclusion for the Aler area, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rozzano, was proposed by E Plus Studio, which handled the preliminary project up to the final execution of the renewal and energy efficiency of the buildings in via Dalie.
The affordable housing buildings in the Aler district have been adorned with a mural executed in record time using spray and roller colors, depicting Hiroshi Kabuki, a manga character who interprets different roles, and the title of the work is “Future was unwritten”. Two other murals, already approved by the municipal administration, will be completed by December.
The work by Hunto, artist currently living in London, depicts a Chinese vase against a cubist background with floral references, titled “Kintsugi: the golden scars”. It references the traditional Japanese technique of repairing shattered ceramics with molten gold, signifying that a broken object can become even more beautiful and precious than it was before.
The third mural in the series, by Vesod Brero, will be called “The Chaos Theory”. The work is informed by the so-called Butterfly Effect, the theory that infinitesimal changes can have enormous and immeasurable effects all over the world.
“It has been an intense and hot two weeks, not without its difficulties, but here we are with the work that I hope you will enjoy and will bring joy and food for thought to those who will see it and to the residents of the area”, Mr. Wany commented on Instagram.
