Wes Anderson’s new exhibition in Milan opens on Sept. 23 at Fondazione Prada

The exhibition “Wes Anderson - Asteroid City: Exhibition” dedicated to the director’s latest film will be open until January 7, 2024.

From 23 September 2023 to 7 January 2024 Fondazione Prada, in collaboration with Universal Pictures International Italy, presents in Milan the exhibition “Wes Anderson - Asteroid City: Exhibition” on the occasion of the Italian premiere of the director’s new film set in 1955, in an imaginary American desert city where a conference of young astronomers and space cadets takes place, while the country is shaken by mysterious events.

Wes Anderson, with his 11th film, ironically evokes social fears (nuclear disaster) and individual (loneliness), combining science fiction and the spirit of Broadway with the great plastic strength and compositional quality that have always characterized his works.

The exhibition will show through immersive installations original sets, props, models, costumes, and works of art in the film, allowing visitors to dive into the aesthetics dominating the imagination of Anderson, always linked to the Foundation. It was Anderson to design the Foundation’s café, Bar Luce, while his successful exhibition “The Spitzmaus Mummy and Other Treasures” was held here in 2019.
