American rapper Travis Scott has shot the music video for the song anticipating his new album, Utopia, at Palais Bulles, the famous round-shaped villa in Théoule-sur-Mer, overlooking the bay of Cannes: conceived by Hungarian architect and designer, naturalized French,Antti Lovag, the project is knownn as one of the most relevant forerunners of 1990s “blob” architecture.
The house, in fact, was designed in 1975 according to the dictates of organic architecture, then built in 1984 by Pierre Bernard: it doesn't have one single corner, and stretches over 12900 square feet on three levels, including bubbles, pools, gardens, a panoramic room and a 500-seat amphitheater. It was planned to become a multifunctional accommodation facility, but in 1992 it was bought by French designer Pierre Cardin as a summer residence.
The rooms that made up Cardin’s private home have been furnished by several artists and architects, including Gae Aulenti, François Chauvin, Pierre Paulin and Claude Prévost. Moreover, some “Sculptures utilitaires”, designed in 1977 by Cardin himself, remain as part of a collection of sinuous furniture pieces
In 1999 Palais Bulles was recognized as a historical monument by the French Ministry of Culture and in 2016 it was put on sale at the highest price in history for a property across Europe : €400 million. Today it is a place of great interest for the fashion system, so much so that Raf Simons has used it as a location to present the 2016 Cruise collection by Dior and Simon Porte Jacquemus Jacquemus recently has spent the holidays there.
