Lake Iseo, after the experience of “The Floating Piers” by Christo and Jeanne-Claude in 2016, returns to confront contemporary art, hosting from 24 June to the first of October 2023 the large stainless steel sculptures of the Albanian artist Helidon Xhixha, collected for the exhibition Acquariaterrafuoco, curated by Ilaria Bignotti and Camilla Remondina.
Xhixha lives between Milan and Dubai and is internationally known for its interventions of monumental public art, which investigate the possible links between sculpture and the environment. The theme of sustainability, in fact, unites the various works, including the floating four-meters-high installation “Iceberg”, visible from a public walkway, and already exhibited as a warning of global warming in Venice on the waters of the Canal Grande during the 56th Biennale, in 2015; and “Satellite”, under the arcades of Piazza Garibaldi, always in Iseo.
