Danish premium audio brand Bang & Olufsen introduced the Beosound A5 portable speaker. The company collaborated with the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi to seamlessly merge a typical Scandinavian look with southern design culture.
“Our inspiration for Beosound A5 came from many places, including the iconic Beolit series as well as natural materials synonymous with the colors and textures found in Scandinavian nature”, say GamFratesi. “From the traditional Panama straw hats worn on beaches, to the hand-woven leather accents of Danish chairs from the 1960s, blends of natural materials applied in experimental ways guided our design journey”.
The Beosound A5 comes in two color options. The natural aluminum version sports a woven paper fiber front and a light oak handle, which gives a relaxed, beachy vibe. The black anthracite aluminum version features a dark oak wood speaker cover and handle reminiscent of winter forests. Both models are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
Beosound A5 is also built for durability thanks to a modular structure that makes it easy to service and repair rather than replace it. The company plans to release new front covers in various materials and colors, allowing the speaker to adapt to customers’ changing tastes. Eventually, once the Beosound A5 reaches its end of life, its easy disassembly and quality materials will facilitate eco-friendly disposal.
Bang & Olufsen’ Mozart software platform, which keeps the speaker up to date in audio, connectivity, and software design, also plays a fundamental role in the product’s enhanced longevity. The platform allows the Beosound A5 to adapt to new audio technologies and always offer an up-to-date premium listening experience for years to come.
The Beosound A5 offers powerful portable audio with a 280-watt, four-way driver setup, and 360-degree sound. Its features include a 5.25" woofer, two 2" midrange, and a 3/4s tweeter. Drawing technology from the Beolab 90 and 50 hi-fi speakers, it incorporates beamforming technology for precise sound control and an immersive listening experience.
