Scheduled from March 31 to July 23 2022, and curated by Antonella Soldaini, “Nests in Milan” is the first exhibition in Milan by the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. The project presents four site-specific interventions in the Brera district – the interiors and the facade of BUILDING, the Cortile della Magnola of Palazzo di Brera, the Congress Center of the Cariplo Foundation, the Grand Hotel et de Milan – creating a widespread exhibition itinerary in the neighborhood.
Tadashi Kawamata has created a series of large nests obtained by weaving wooden planks, which will then be recycled at the end of the exhibition. Built together with the students of Sculpture from the Brera Academy, the nests merge with the architectural elements that characterize the various buildings, bringing to the subject a reflection on the meaning of the refuge.
