Mocha Mousse is the Pantone 2025 colour

The colour we will see everywhere is “a soft, soothing brown that reflects our desire for comfort and simple pleasures”.

We cannot predict the future, but 2025 will be defined by one very specific colour, according to Pantone: 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a deep, soft brown that conveys warmth and sophistication.

Underpinned by our desire for everyday pleasures, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. "Sophisticated and luxurious, yet an unpretentious classic, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expands the perception of brown from a humble, grounded shade to an embrace of aspiration and luxury. Infused with subtle elegance and earthy sophistication, it offers a touch of understated, subtle glamour," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute.

Since 1962, Pantone has been a reference in the identification and cataloguing of colours, and over the years has become an absolute benchmark in the world of design, a role that has been strengthened with the rise of social media and digital. Thanks to the Pantone code, the world speaks the same language when it comes to colour.

Laurie Pressman, VP of the Pantone Colour Institute, predicted that "this announcement is significant because it will influence global design trends and inspire professionals and consumers to integrate colour into their work and lifestyles, expressing their essence in a personal way," according to the official website.

Last year, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Colour of the Year, Pantone Peach Fuzz was chosen, a peachy pink that "exudes warmth and modern elegance, resonates with compassion and effortlessly combines youthfulness and timelessness", according to Eiseman.
