We know that during Design Week, prices for accommodation in Milan, already notoriously high, skyrocket exponentially. That’s why IED has decided to organize an urban camp to give students under 30 from design schools around the world the opportunity to participate in one of the most representative design events on the global scene. The project aims to be an example of social inclusion, making access to the world of design more democratic, raising awareness about the circular economy, and offering a stay with reduced impact.
The form to request a reservation for up to two nights for The Glitch Camp is available on the IED website until March 24th. It’s a free camp that will be set up on the soccer field of the “Enrico Cappelli Savorelli” Sports Center. Thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and Milanosport S.p.A., the European Institute of Design will contribute to making the Salone del Mobile week – from April 15th to 21st – accessible to as many young people from international backgrounds as possible. The aim is to make the creative and relational heritage that comes to life in Milan every year more democratic, contributing to spreading its knowledge.
The camp can accommodate up to 100 people and will be equipped with Ferrino tents, each equipped with a “perfect sleep kit” provided by IKEA Italy, which will provide everything needed to make rest and stay in the camp more comfortable for the occasion.
