Porto Academy is the result of the will of their founders and directors Amélia Brandão Costa and Rodrigo da Costa Lima to create a stimulating, experimental and spontaneous learning environment, at the crossroads of a multiplicity of approaches. Throughout the years, the summer school has become a platform for the disciplinary discussion between architects and students. During an intense one-week program, the participants join conferences, visits and workshop activities.
This edition features three guest lecturers: Steven Holl, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto of Atelier Bow-Wow and Not Vital, the first artist involved in the school; while the workshop leaders are Adamo Faiden, Arquitectura G, Fran Silvestre, Ling Hao, Luís Urbano, Manuel Cervantes of CC Arquitectos, Meyer-Grohbrügge & Chermayeff of June 14, Muoto, NP2F, Sauter Von Moos, SO-IL and Stephen Taylor.
