Clinic in Serbia

Studio Fluid developed a private clinic in Novi Sad, Serbia, around a long white corridor in DuPont Corian® that gives a “light at the end of the tunnel” feeling.

Studio Fluid designed a clinic for laser lein therapy in Novi Sad, Serbia, located on the first floor of Adamović Palace, an early XIX century building. The layout combines DuPont Corian® surfaces with LED lighting.

All the materials used in the interiors – from MDF, to epoxy floors, furniture and equipment – vary into different shades of white, giving subtle contrasts in colour and texture. Studio Fluid specified DuPont Corian® for its durability, formability, translucency and sensorial qualities. Two main colours have been used: Glacier White for the unlit areas and translucent Glacier Ice for the illuminated areas.

Corian® was used for a fifteen meters long corridor linking the reception area to the waiting room, for the luminous counter in the reception, and for storage units in the clinic’s treatment rooms. The corridor’s hidden doors are not illuminated. As a result, when all lights are turned off, the panels look uniform, but when they are turned on, they are very scenographic.

Above the corridor, a long, thin LED lamp is attached to the ceiling by hidden cables, giving the impression of a laser beam passing through the entire space and emphasising the path that patients should follow. The rooms behind the corridor contain translucent cabinets and cupboards, that are also made from a combination of Corian® and MDF panels, and glow when lit.
