English designer Max Lamb remastered in a new palette of basalt his Crockery tablewear collection, made out of fine bone china through a complex design process.
The collection of tablewear developed by Max Lamb follows on from the designer’s previous Crockery fine bone china collection, remastered in a jet black palette of basalt.
The range of tableware has a design process that slip-casts from plaster models then carved by hand. Each design features a glazed interior for functionality and a raw exterior, which reflects the modest surface texture of the plaster original. The process of slip-casting begins with the creation of a three-dimensional model of the design known as a master from which the production mould is cast.
