A collective exhibition curated by PS and Secondome revives a long-abandoned historic Milan mansion, with room after room displaying new Italian craftworks. #MDW2016
Curated by PS and Rome’s Secondome gallery, the “Ladies & Gentlemen” collective exhibition showcases new works and displays by more than 15 designers. Each one was given a room in a fine old Milan mansion, left empty for years. The decorated rooms are filled with the finest Italian productions and new craftworks, from Cristina Celestino’s Plumage collection of ceramic tiles for Botteganove to metalwork by Mingardo.
Servomuto presents four new lamps that dialogue with unique 1950s’s pieces selected by .TO.DO, the whole held together by research into fabrics, graphic designs and forms, drawn from the Bauhaus but revamped from an exotic angle.
By contrast, the Studiopepe “Out of the Blue” installation is the product of studies into form, light and colour. The collection of eight plaster sculptures, in a limited edition, explores the analogies between light and form via the photographic process of cyanotype (from the Greek kyanos meaning dark blue).
