Designed by the young Belgian Studio NAB, Odo is the prototype of a side table that merges metal and wood to create a playful object.
Odo project is a pedestal table / side table in powder-coated steel and solid ash. It takes its name from the scientific term “Odonata”, an order of carnivorous insects, encompassing dragonflies.
Morphologically, “its head” is made of a thin sheet metal structure 1.2mm implementation by rolling. The whole of this piece finish and lacquer may be declined in many shades. The practical aspect of this design is the possibility of storing objects such as magazines, newspapers, water bottles in the boxes provided for this purpose, the “eyes” of Odo.
The “chest” part is in curved plywood by means of mold, glued ash and an extramat finishing varnish. Lastly the “feet” forming the base are made of solid ash wood.
