BNTHMCRWL, Paleisbrug: a 250 metre-long pedestrian link across the railway track between the historic centre of ’s-Hertogenbosch and Paleiskwartier, in The Netherlands, was the pretext for Benthem Crouwel Architects to create a suspended park-like area.

Steve Messam, PaperBridge: set against the verdant greens of the Helvellyn peak in the Lake District, a bridge made entirely from paper takes its place in the British countryside to defy both belief and gravity.

And-Ré, VLM bridge: collaborating with the artist Domingos Loureiro And-Ré designed in Vilamoura, Portugal, a bridge made of wood and concrete that breaks the relation of the user with the backing street by directing the attention to the lake view.

DFA, Butterfly bridge: in this foot- and cycle bridge in Copenaghen three decks connect the different banks fixed on a common platform. When two decks are open at the same time, they form a butterfly.

The Ravelijn Bridge: RO&AD Architecten completed a pedestrian bridge to connect the fortress-island of Ravelijn “Op den Zoom” to the city of Bergen op Zoom, in The Netherlands, using the principles of the Cradle to Cradle philosophy.

Footbridge Candiac: the new footbridge of Candiac, Canada, designed by Lemay to connect the city’s northern and southern sectors, is a strong landmark that generates a kinetic and theatrical experience.

A walk above the tide: after 9 years of studies and 3 years construction on site, the jetty to the Mont-Saint-Michel by Dietmar Feichtinger Architects opened to pedestrians.

Passerelle de la Paix: the new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the Rhone in Lyon by Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes – la passerelle de la Paix – reveals the landscape and urban changes.

NEXT Architects, Melkwegbrug: a sculptural bridge, defined by a steep 12 metre-high arch and a gently sloping 100 metre-long underpassage, connects the historic centre and a new district of Purmerend, a small Dutch city.
