Young German product designer Karoline Fesser presented at Salone Satellite 2014 three new projects: a glass object, a wooden stool and a steel shelf.
Among the novelties presented by Karoline Fesser at Salone Satellite 2014, "96°" breaks away from the typical shelf constructions.
Its height is not determined by a static frame but by the amount of its compartments. Each of the basic elements – base, box and cover – follows an angle of 96 degrees. Stackable into each other the elements mount up to a shelf by an alternate layering. Interlocking edges and cuts allow an easy and stable stacking without any additional fixtures. How high, remains open.
The glass object Tête-à-Tête conflates a bowl and a cover into one product. In everyday life the open hemisphere stands on a cylindrical tube and presents fruits, salads or snacks. On special occasions the bowl can be turned around and becomes a protecting cover for cakes, brownies or cupcakes. The aluminium or wooden base can easily be fixed by simple pressing and, due to a a silicon ring, provides an airtight seal.
The All Wood Stool translates the traditional workshop stool into an everyday object. It concentrates the logic characteristics of a functional workshop stool as height adjustability, stability, lightness and flexibility in a new form completely made of wood. The seat and foot are flipped horizontal, the spindle winds into a thread which is set into a tube. All components are turned and can be processed by hand or in CNC turning.
