Nendo: magne-hinge

Nendo designed the glasses magne-hinge whose hinges employ magnets rather than the usual screws, making the temples removable and easy to change.

Nendo, magne-hinge
magne-hinge is a pair of eyeglass frames, presented by Nendo during Milan Design Week 2014, whose hinges employ magnets rather than the usual screws, making the temples removable and the frames more flexible and difficult to break.
The 0.8mm carved titanium frames are held in place by magnets layered and hooked together. The temples release smoothly when pulled from the side, so that users can create different looks by purchasing temples in different colors and materials.
