During the 2012 Salone del Mobile, Bangkok-based furniture designers THINKK Studio will present their new Arms Chair, as part of a collaborative exhibition with Studio 248 in Ventura Lambrate.
THINKK outline the Arms chair as a resistance to the trend of overlooking the functions of a chair and instead striving for a gimmick based on unique forms and materials. Instead, they have carefully observed the way people sit on chairs and through doing so noted that people's use of armrests differ greatly. Arms Chair focusses on this element of the object, and provides additional armrest configurations in order to better satisfy the variety of heights and positions at which people use armrests.
The ashwood chair is through this customisation declared "unique" for each user as THINKK address gestures often overlooked by conventional furniture.
