The inaugural Frame Moooi Award for interior design will reach its conclusion during the Salone del Mobile 2012, where the winner will be announced, receiving a €25,000 prize.
With the competition's goal "to find the best custom-made lamp or furniture designed for a specific interior" announced back in mid-2011, 891 submissions by designers in 79 countries were received. The award's jury, chaired by designer Philippe Starck, narrowed the field down to ten finalists and will announce the winner in Milan.
The ten finalist projects include:
Ray – integrated ceiling light for an office, by Shl Design

Caelum – LED table lamp for a bar, by Pablo Martinez Diez, Spain
Kroon – chandelier for an office and apartment building, by ZMIK, Switzerland
Shoe Box – display system for a sneaker shop, by Facet Studio, Australia
Mist of Arch – furniture for public toilet in a department store, by Keiko + Manabu, Japan
Sketch – display for a fashion shop, by Ypsilon Tasarim, Yesim Bakirküre, Turkey
Stairway to Heaven – pendant light for a theater café, by Bertjan Pot, the Netherlands
Education Trestles and Easels – educational table system for an art museum, by Studio Makkink & Bey, the Netherlands
Decanterlight – pendant light for a bar, by Lee Broom, United Kingdom

The party, whose theme is "Celebration to LIGHT!", will be hosted by Michele Caniato and include a special installation by artist Daniel Wurtzel. At the ceremony, the 10 finalists will be presented by designer and Moooi co-founder Marcel Wanders before Starck momentarily takes centre stage in order to crown the winner.
