“Mind-Sets” is an introspective exhibition exploring Ineke Hans’s working process, her thoughts, fascinations and motives in design. The items on show are Ineke Hans’s own designs as well as objects from her personal collection and references to historical pieces that have influenced her work. The exhibition gives an insight into her interest in materials and techniques, folklore, colour and decoration. Works from recent years for the likes of Arco, Cappellini, Lensvelt and RoyalVKB are shown alongside her latest work for Offecct. “Mind- Sets” also offers a sneak preview of her new designs for Ahrend and van Esch that will officially be launched in autumn 2010.
Ineke Hans set up her design studio INEKEHANS/ARNHEM in 1998 in Arnhem, Holland after graduating from the RCA and working as a freelance designer for Habitat UK. She works with a small team on a wide range of 3D projects including furniture, products, exhibitions and architectural projects. Her work investigates the psychological roots of products, perceiving and playing with the interaction between people, objects and space, and uses old and new production methods in unconventional ways.
The exhibition is presented in association with the Museum for Modern Art in Arnhem where the exhibition runs from 26th June – 5th September 2010. An accompanying book Mind-Sets by Walter Bettens, editor of DAMn° Magazine, will be available from the gallery.
