Cities must be sustainable so that their people can live in a sustainable way. Reduce hours inside a vehicle, shorten distances and reduce carbon footprint, generate less waste and consume less energy. This issue of Domus America Central y el Caribe includes buildings focused on sustainable design; they take advantage of resources and save energy, water, among other materials. Two “green” houses: one in Costa Rica, by Carazo Arquitectos and the other in Mexico by ASP Arquitectura and Sergio Portillo. Plus another exclusive project: The award-winning Puma Energy Headquarters in El Salvador by Umbrales de Concreto. Also, everything that happened at the International Design Festival 2017 (FID #7) in San José, Costa Rica, and a retrospective on the work of Jacque Fresco.
