The Shanghai-based DAS Lab design studio imagines the coordinates of a futuristic concept store in Shijiazhuang, in the Chinese province of Hebei, as a vibrant dialogue between brands and consumers. Dominated by the cold tones of stainless steel and concrete, the showroom finds in the free arrangement of bespoke furnishings a way to escape imposed visiting routes and to transform rarefaction into an incisive experience of confrontation with the products.
A concept store in China does not fear the rule of steel

Elements of sophistication distinguish the design of the displays, built by juxtaposing primary geometric shapes and through the use of heterogeneous materials such as sandblasted stainless steel, terrazzo, glass, diatom ooze, volcano, and wood grain cement board. Only a few electric blue inserts break the uniformity of tones and reflections, enlivening the space by smoothing its claustrophobic drift.
