Zona Tortona: events not to be missed

The novelty this year concerns the Dutch Ventura Projects who have announced Ventura Future 2019 in collaboration with Base Milano. A return to Tortona.

Ventura Future
The 3,700 square metres of Base Milano (The ex-Ansaldo factory in Via Tortona 54 and in Via Bergognone 34) will play host to the Ventura Future 2019 project which takes the form of an exhibition area with a wealth of revolutionary and innovative design projects focusing on visions of the future proposed by international designers, organisations and academies from all over the word.
Ventura Future examines the theme of “Design Stories”, or rather the passage from the design of objects to the design of stories. Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in numerous projects which examine the most topical of international matters, also through the senses.
This year, for the first time, there will be an entry fee of 5 euros (tickets available via this link: Ventura tickets). Base will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Opening evening on Wednesday 10 April until 10 p.m. Sunday 14 April closing time will be at 6 p.m.

Tortona Rocks
This year the theme is “Design Awareness”, a reflection on how to create design, seen as a cross-cultural system, which implies constant examination of the evolution of social, technological, scientific and communication panoramas, re-examining a number of its paradigms.
The event, taking place within Opificio 31 (Via Tortina 31), plays host to a collective including more than 20 international projects, 60 designers and 50 companies.
Not to be missed is the multi-dimensional environmental design installation by the British artist Alex Chinneck for IQOS, which will change the perception of Opificio 31. There will also be projects offering concrete solutions to protect the environment with “Norwegian Presence”, “Belgium is Design” and “100 domande per domani”by IED,
as well as new technological situations examined by Sony Design, Hyundai, Peugeot Design Lab, Samsung, CA-VA and Autodesk. Citroën will be involving visitors in an exhibition which examines both heritage and the future, created by Matteo Ragni Studio.
