Dawns: these are lights of tomorrow, “projects” to enter the future, thinking of the future, of the sun rising, after a night full of stars, past peering into the sidereal darkness and tracing new possible constellations that are bright ideas that can become real.
Darkness is a good friend to the light designer, and in a light exhibition it is avowedly first prelude and then overture.
After that, stars and stars are glimpsed, satellites and graves are seen, we are blinded by the sun and its eclipses until we find ourselves suspended in the colors of the sky, from auroras to sunsets, with the final invitation to always look up before leaving and letting go. Then, almost outside, lightning comes through a window and dazzles us. Its imaginary thunder wakes us up and we find ourselves “all designers.”
[Perhaps we have only dreamed of dwelling in the place of desires-from de/sidera, absence of stars.]

Curator Matteo Pirola writes about the exhibition at the Salone, a journey of light (and lights) that starts with darkness: first as a prelude, then overture.
