Among the solutions on display, Johan Viladrich has concentrated on the world of the elderly, re-thinking materials and ergonomics for commonly used objects typical of this age group: a kitchen knife, a shoe horn and a walking frame; Sexual Healing by Nienke Helder is a kit of sensorial stimulators to be used outside of the clinical environment for the treatment of female sexual disturbances induced by trauma; Tamara Hoogeweegen, instead, has conducted an investigation into prenatal genetic engineering, which invites further personal exploration through a series of difficult but extremely topical questions, such as: “What would happen is we had the possibility of changing the colour of someone’s eyes, or terminating pregnancies according to IQ?”; with Hospichic, an acronym of Hospital and Chic, Alissa Rees has created accessories to help to improve the experience of a stay in hospital, from jackets which contain fluid for drips to accessories for decorating bedrooms, whether they be single or shared.
