Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec designed the new lighting installations for Bourse de Commerce, the new contemporary art museum of the Pinault Collection in Paris. The project, realised by Flos Bespoke, covers the entrance, the monumental staircase and the new restaurant of the gallery – the latter renovated by Tadao Ando Architect & Associates. The lighting intervention draws attention to the light sources even when they are switched off, emphasising their scenic presence. The entrance hall features a Horizontal Light: five tubular glass and aluminium elements, running parallel to each other, make up a six-metre long structure, floating in the space. Staircases are accompanied by suspended Vertical LIghts in groups of five or three; the C-shaped staircase, formed by two intersecting spiral stairways, is emphasised by the monumentality of 17-metre high strips of light, which can be seen from all points of view. In the restaurant, designers use Vertical Light and table lamps with wrought iron bases.
