During a virtual conference held last week at IFA 2020, the hologram of LG Electronics CEO Park Il-pyung unveiled the Puricare Wearable Air Purifier. As the name suggests without leaving much to the imagination, the device is a wearable air purifier that creates a clean and safe air environment around the wearer’s mouth and nose.
The Puricare mask can be put on like any other face mask, but it’s inevitably heavier and clunkier. LG assures that the device has been designed based on a thorough analysis of face shapes and it’s comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.
The “dual three-speeds fans” inside the mask provide proper air circulation, with a feedback mechanism based on the wearer breathing flow, while two top-class HEPA filters clean the air that passes through them during each breathing cycle. The mask is powered by a single 820mAh battery that can last 8hours in low-mode and 2hrs when the fans spin faster in high-mode. The Puricare mask even comes with a recharging case that features UV-LED lights for thorough disinfection between uses.
LG said the Puricare Wearable Air Purifier will be available during the the fourth quarter in selected markets, but has yet to indicate a price range for the product.
