A new flagship store in Beirut reveals the richness of the Mediterranean heritage

Rabih Geha Architects designs the interiors of the new Images d’Orient flagship store in Lebanon among arches, vibrant tones and hard materials.

Ashrafieh, one of Beirut’s oldest neighborhoods, hosts the latest RG / Architects project for Images d’Orient, a home décor brand inspired by Middle East and Mediterranean culture.

It is a 70 sqm flagship store for dual use, display and creation, characterized by a facade of successive arched windows and white and red two-tone interiors with brushed stainless steel shelves, brass details and gray Aggloceppo marble floor. The arches are located on both sides of the space, with a semi-rigid undulating and perforated steel mesh behind. In the middle of the room a red and white ovoid counter recalls, horizontally, the vertical arched geometries, while the checkered lights on the ceiling evoke the squared shapes of the steel mono-shelves on the walls.

The shop’s products are on display in the windows, in the niches and on the central table as if they were artistic artworks. The space will also serve as a creative launching pad for the new collections.
