From product and set design to branding and strategy Stockholm-based Note Design Studio strikes at Stockholm Furniture Fair with a diverse mix of product launches and a major installation for seven different brands. Together with flooring brand Tarkett, founders Johannes Carlström and Cristiano Pigazzini created Snowtopped, a Nordic winter landscape at Stockholm Under Stjärnorna, a vibrant rooftop located 50 meters above the streets of central Stockholm. The design duo paired the colours and shapes of snow using nothing more than Tarkett’s sustainable vinyl flooring range iQ Granit. With a spectrum of colour from cool white to light grey to create a space “where the versatility and flexibility of the material are accentuated,” tells Charlotte Ackemar, product designer at Note.

Product launches include a Maze, a carpet series for Moooi’s Nordic Collection, an expansion of the sound-absorbing screens for Swedish company Zilenzio with a series of semicircular seating units, a collection of side tables for Ariake Japanese brand, and the fair stand designs for Italian company Magis, Norwegian outdoor furniture brand Vestre and Swedish furniture brand Fogia.
On Stockholm’s rooftop Stockholm Under Stjärnorna, Note Design Studio and floor-covering brand Tarkett have crafted a Nordic winter landscape using Tarkett’s sustainable vinyl
flooring range, iQ – a material commonly used in high-traffic public spaces.
Focus range of sound-absorbing screens with acoustics-led Swedish furniture company Zilenzio in 2016. Note is now expanding the range to include semicircular seating units that can also function as room dividers and workstations.
After the successful collaboration with Magis during the Salone del Mobile 2018, Note continues its collaboration with the historic Italian company through the design of the stand, with an archetypal and playful touch.
For the Norwegian company’s stand, Note investigated the language of urban space. With a 3D patchwork, the studio created a miniature city made up of layers of materials and red-rust shades.
Note is among the protagonists of the new Nordic Collection of the Dutch company. Maze is composed of three variants: Miami, with deco accents; Tical, inspired by Maya; Puglia, evoking the Mediterranean landscapes.
