If the future of payment is cryptocurrency, design is ready. Trove is a digital wallet designed by Benjamin Hubert for Layer in collaboration with the Trove start-up, and is designed to be an unhackerable encryption repository. It is still in the form of a prototype. It consists of four elements: "Coin", "Keep", "Safe" and the Trove app.
A BRACELET, A NECKLACE, A BROOCH
“Coin” is a wearable device of 3mmx20 mm in aluminum, and as a wallet, but instead of cash it contains criptocurrency. It can be adapted to three uses: it attaches magnetically to a bracelet, to a chain for the neck or to a brooch. “Coin” keeps the currency in offline mode: this means that it is less violable by hackers.
THE ELECTROCARDIOGRAM AS A METHOD OF AUTHENTICATION
The method of authentication is biometric, an electrocardiogram (ECG), a verification method that recognizes the pattern of the heartbeat through contact. This activates a bluetooth that communicates with the user’s smartphone and allows access to the funds. Unlike other encryption portfolios that rely on complex passwords, it is not possible to lose or forget this authentication method. This aspect is very relevant because research shows that 35% of Bitcoins have been lost due to irrecoverable passwords.
THE APP
“Coin” is available in two black aluminum silver anodized aluminum materials and is kept in “Keep” a container of volcanic rock and polycarbonate that recharge “Coin” through a USB-C port. “Coin” is a pair with “Safe”, a wall tile that is placed in the house where you can keep all the funds, is always offline and can be accessed via ECG. All of this is associated with a smartphone app, where you can view the movements and see for example the trends of the different cryptomoney, to say of the Bitcoin and Ethereum. There is also a financial advisor.
