CC tapis reinterprets Chromophobia mixing design, craftsmanship and art

Art pieces and design carpets complete the composition curated by Aldo Parisotto within CC tapis showroom in Milan. The artistic journey is based on Chromophobia, the book by David Batchelor published in 2001 where the Western thinking is associated with the fear of colour.

Developed in three monochromatic spaces, with the complete absence of decoration, the pieces by Herbert Hamak, David Simpson, Luigi Carboni, Claudio Parmeggiani, Marcello Jori, Arthur Duff and Mats Bergquist are put in dialogue with the textile works designed by Faye Toogood, Daniele Lora and Parisotto+Formenton – all of them handcrafted by expert craftsmen from Central Gabon. The result is a balanced layout of tactile effects, monochromes, industrial details and rich textures. The project was made in collaboration with the Studio La Città art galleries, Galleria de Foscherari and Galleria Africa Curio, Milan.
