16 awarded Compasso d’Oro

Sixteen Compasso d’Oro awards have been assigned this year by an international jury lead by Gillo Dorfles. It is the twentieth edition of the most important design award that since 1954 has been selecting and promoting the best of industrial design “made in Italy”.

The winners – chosen from 600 ‘candidates’ – go to make up part of the legendary collection of the award. The winning products include the Ripples bench by Toyo Ito for Horm, the Pipe lamp by Herzog & de Meuron for Artemide and the new Panda from the Centro Stile Fiat with Stile Bertone. The jury has awarded another five prizes – three for lifetime’s work (Maddalena De Padova, Flou and Piaggio) and two special awards (Rolf Fehlbaum and Giulio Castelli). On show at the Triennale in Milan along with the rest of the designs awarded the Compasso d’Oro. E.S.
