Bagan – the ancient city of Myanmar survives with 2200 of Pagodas, Temples and Stupas. The recent expansion of the tourism industry is slowly altering the landscape, where a spiritual atmosphere is perceived, to a more modern environment. The visual exploration by MD Rahman looks both at the mysticism that remains and the materialistic transformation of the place.

Farhad Rahman (b. 1986) is a Bangladeshi documentary photographer as well as “an observer of life and space around him”. After completing his Engineering degree and 3 years Professional Photography Program currently he is working as a Photography Professional and Faculty at Pathshala, South Asian Meidia Institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Bagan is one of the photographic researches selected by Domusweb among the Gabriele Basilico Prize in Architecture and Landscape Photography 2018 candidates. The Prize intends to support the growth of visual languages in photography among a new generation of artists.
