A facility dedicated to children with disabilities, to their rehabilitation and movement reactivation, can be inclusive and playful architecture. This is the conviction behind the Fun Maze project by Atelier Caracas in Venezuela's capital city. Located on an elongated lot, the entire therapy centre is a labyrinthine, colourful space to be explored. Avoiding gloomy corridors and separate rooms, the architects design a series of interconnected, fluid spaces. The aim of the designers is to humanise the work of the medical consultants and at the same time promote new forms of interaction and sharing among users. Distinctive elements of the project are the curved blue walls which define the various spaces in an unusual way. The pitched roof, with a long central skylight, features a series of metal trusses visible from every room. The interior walls do not reach the roof and give the interiors an airy, open character.
