Otravisión is an installation project designed by Davide Marchetti Architetto, an Italian practice based in Rome, and built in Logroño, Spain, on the pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela. The project has been conceived in the framework of the fourth edition of Concéntrico, an international festival of architecture and design taking place in the Spanish city. The annual event aims at the rediscovery of the city through ephemeral installations.

Davide Marchetti’s wooden tower is located close to the Muralla Del Revellín, a landmark in the historical town centre. Conceived as an individual experience, Otravisión, as the name suggests, fosters a different understanding of the town centre’s complex interaction between its historical heritage and the new elements in the urban fabric. While ascending, the visitor perceives the surrounding square through the pattern geometry of the wooden sticks’ arrangement, inspired by a local architectural tradition. Once on top of the construction, the visitor can eventually experience the place from a different perspective: the tower is therefore a tool to raise awareness on the necessary valorisation of the urban public spaces of the city.
