The story of an
extraordinary life and
an attempt to describe
a mystery – how did
the son of a miller
manage to become one
of the most famous
architects of the last
five centuries?
The
exhibition “Palladio
500 anni”, sponsored
by the Ministry of
National Heritage and
Culture, promises to
reveal all. The story is
told through material
from eighty museums
and libraries from
all over Europe and
is the result of five
years’ research by an
international committee
of specialists.
On show at Palazzo
Barbaran da Porto
in Vicenza until 6
January, 2009, it also
includes some unbuilt
works such as the
Rialto Bridge in Venice
and the design for the
new Palazzo Ducale. E.S.
